U.S. News and World Report just came out with its new list for the 13 Best Trucks for Towing. The latest list features two acclaimed Chevy trucks, the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado and the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
The Colorado model with the best towing capability has the 2.8-liter turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped, you can pull up to 7,700 pounds. A U.S. News and World Report writer praised the vehicle, stating that it not only provides the best towing capacity in a compact pickup, but it’s the most fuel-efficient model offered as well.
You’ll find this powertrain on the same trim that comes with the Trailering Package. That includes a 2-inch receiver hitch with multiple connectors, automatic locking rear differential, and other handy features.
The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earned one of the top scores on the list for good reason. This year’s model tows more than any past Silverado 1500 and leads the light-duty pickup truck class. You can pull up to a massive 13,400 pounds when paired with the available 6.2-liter V8 engine. It has best-in-class horsepower and torque with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. You can also opt for four-wheel drive, 20-inch wheels, and a myriad of trailering tech to make towing even easier.
