The mid-size truck Chevy Colorado will undergo some big changes for the 2021 model year. It’s got a bold new design, even more gear, and a new palette of additional colors. In addition to that, Chevrolet removed the base trim level of the 2021 Colorado.
Eliminating the old base trim of the Colorado will make the Work Truck the new standard option. Years of data indicated that customers preferred the additional features and superior value of the Work Truck trim, inspiring Chevy to make it the new default level.
A price increase is to be expected in the 2021 Colorado, but it will still be one of the segment’s best-priced trucks. Chevy spokesman Chris Bonelli said, “We believe Colorado will remain very competitively priced in the mid-size truck segment and will see continued strong sales fueled by its fresh new look.”
The aggressive new look features a full “Chevrolet” written across the grille and tailgate. Its 17-inch wheels hold a rugged, off-road-ready frame that can be painted with three new colors: Cherry Bomb Tintcoat, Dune Metallic, and the vividly blue Pow Zinga Metallic. The 2021 Colorado will also come with a fresh layout, more prominently featured badging, and a skid plate.
