Chevrolet unveiled the next-generation Silverado earlier this year, giving truck enthusiasts and industry experts alike their first glance at the all-new model. As part of this new Silverado lineup, the upcoming Silverado Chassis Cab models are getting powerful capability and performance features such as an upgraded Duramax turbodiesel engine, a sealed interior for less wind and engine noise, and a fiberglass hood with hand grips. In addition to that, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Chassis Cab is also pulling a surprising design element from the Camaro ZL1 — the “Flowtie.”
Most Chevrolet models boast some variation of the Chevy bowtie on their front grille. However, the Camaro ZL1 was designed with a hollow bowtie on the grille to allow for improved air flow and better performance. By incorporating the “Flowtie” into Chevy Silverado Chassis Cab models, commercial work trucks will have better air flow to the radiator, resulting in lower coolant and oil temperatures.
Other features on the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado commercial trucks include Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and 4G LTE Wi-Fi®. More precise steering and an air suspension will increase performance capability.
Production of the new models begins in late 2018, with the Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD signaling Chevy’s return to the commercial truck segment.
